My Par-TAY!!!
My parents got me a cake for a little shin-dig and, despite the really hot weather, many of my friends (several of which I did not know existed) came!!

This is the cake. It was from three dog bakery and made of all natural dog friendly ingredients. It was primarily peanut butter.

I was really pumped to get at it!!!

Mommy teased me a little by letting me get close to it before we went to the party.

Here I am staking out the venue and greeting some early guests. My parents only made me wear my birthday t-shirt for a few minutes because it was so hot.

Even Duke and Gidget came to the party! Unfortunately, it was a bit too hot for Duke and they did not go swimming, although I am not sure either of them really wanted too anyways. Note Duke's world famous tongue.

Sweet little Gidget.

Daddy had to remind Duke to share the cake with the other pugs.

This is Duke's tongue likely scooping up a fly that he had been hunting.

It may have been my party but Little Lola stole the show and went straight for the cake. For those of you who do not remember Lola, she is a small, sweet, goofy, black female pug...i.e. the perfect template for the little sister that my Daddy will not shut up about getting. We'll see how long any future sister lasts in my house. [Parents' note: Winston has already been told that if he is mean to Cosette, as we call his imaginary sister pug, it will be his butt out on the road.]

It was shocking to see such a small dog eat so much cake. The vet told her to gain a pound (she only weighs 12 lbs) and apparently she thought that he meant to gain it all today.

She does loads to help debunk the myth that pugs are little eating machines, more akin to pigs than dogs.

I firmly believe that she would have eaten the entire cake and then started on the table had her parents not stopped her. And put it this way, I do not want to be the pooper scooper that has to service her later.

This is Daddy being a jerk and showing love to other dogs yet again. I think a hair cut is in order for him.

It's my party, I can hide under the table if I want to!

I guess now that I am no longer a puppy, my parents will be taking even more pictures of puppies that they will say are cuter than me. This little guy is a 12 week old golden retriever puppy.

Look at all the great presents I got! I have already come very close to destroying my copy of the Doggie Daily News. Thanks Duke and Gidget!! Thanks Duke and Gidget who gave me the Doggy Daily News, the Frog that I have named Riiiibet, goodies, and a hedgehog named Sonic. Lola gave me a yummy curly beefstick that I shall destroy very soon. Another of my buds named Foster (who knew me only through this blog) gave me a little ball and an awesome little polar bear that my parents used to teach me to fetch things from the water. Thanks lots guys!!! I really did not expect any presents!

Before I sat down with the paper, I went straight for Riiiibet. That is me dragging the frog away to his slobber bath.

This is me modelling him, and attempting to get my parents to throw him.

This is what royalty looks like after a swim. Alas my puppyhood is over. I took a walk down to the lake and gazed across to the other side while reminiscing about my childhood and pondering the future. Daddy warns that it is probably all down hill from here.

Snarf everydog later,
/s/ Winston, Grand Duke of Pugsworth

WOW, what a pawsome party. I soooo wish I could have been there. And the cake?? Don't even get me started, my tummy is rumbling like crazy :)

I'm glad you had such a wonderful day, Winston. I don't know what your Daddy means about "all downhill from here". I think pugs only get better looking with age - we're like a fine wine, right? Hehehe!

Hey Winston, we're glad you enjoyed your gifts. We're so sorry we couldn't stay longer. It's all Gidget's fault. She just can't ride in the car without going completely crazy. And of course all of her barking and crying gets me all worked up too. By the time we made it to the party, we were already exhausted. But we did have a great time while we were there, and we really loved that cake! Thanks again for inviting us.

Happy 1st Birthday, Winston! Your party looked spectacular. Mommy saw the pictures and realized she has let me down all these years by not getting me a cake. You know what that means! Come December, I'm going to be snarfing down birthday treats galore!!!
