My First Christmas Present!!
I have been an excellent baby this year and as a reward a generous fat man left me some really nice presents! My parents were very impressed that I knew that the present was inside the paper, not the paper itself (I love papyrus tasting stuff). Snarf everyone later and enjoy.

And the Winner Is....
This one. Actually, this picture made the basis for an adorable card with a nice border that said "Merry Christmas from the Grand Duke" but apparently Walgreens thinks they own the copyright. See, Mommy made it on their machine but apparently they said that they get any copyright; however, she still had to pay them. Sounds pretty sketchy, eh.

But, more importantly, don't I look adorable in my mistletoe laden antlers that also say kiss me, in case anyone doesn't know what to do when a pug is wearing mistletoe.

Another cute sad picture.

I put this picture up so that people will understand that I am not an easygoing photogenic pug. My parents work hard to make me seem cute.

These are some pajamas of mine. My parents got them a long time ago, but they are only now starting to fit on me.

This is me getting ready for bed in my jamis.

Side view of the jamis.

This is a yummy pre-Christmas present that my parents gave me so that I would leave them alone while they watched "The Seven Samurai." It was a really long movie, but, luckily, it was a very large bone. I will post a couple of videos of the first time that I ever opened Christmas presents. Stay tuned!

Progress Report
This is my first progress report. Daddy says I should anticipate many more. Mommy seems to think that is an insult for some reason.

2 Weeks and about a pound. Mommy said me and my brothers and sister looked like rats.

1 Month and about 2.5 pounds. I already have some of my famous Pugsworth spunk here.

2 Months - 4.5 lbs. As you can see, I was already feeling pretty comfy in my new home by this point.

3 Months - 7.7 lbs. Getting a little bigger.

5 Months - 13.5 lbs. Becoming massive!!!

An involuntarily lazy weekend
First of all, Happy coming home anniversary to my hero Duke. The power went out to all Seattle this weekend due to a big wind storms (big trees and power lines don't mix). We never lost power, but fixing the power seems to have necessitated disconnecting our cable (or so Comcast says). Mommy and Daddy had to improvise on entertaining me this weekend, so we went to the dog park a lot and they played me a movie.

It was called Milo and Otis, and I liked it a lot. There was this awesome part where a cat fell off a cliff, but it lived so it wasn't so cool after all.

This is me chillin' on the snugglenest this weekend.

This is me on the same snugglenest right after my parents got me.

I discovered an awesome new way to gank some food, I just lick it while it's being perfectly set up in this strange machine.

Hmmmmm, good!! But there is a strange aftertaste. (Parent's note: that'd be soap.)

This is me looking sad in my Seahawks jersey and sleeping on top of my Mommy's monkey slippers. Mommy does not approve, but me and the monkeys are lover ;-)
Don't I look sad to have pictures taken of me?

This is a back view, notice how tight it is because that is going to be momentarily relevant.

Different view of how well it fits.

A front view of my barrel chest popping out of that Seahawk jersey. If I may say, I am becoming quite an intimidating physical specimen.

This is me a couple of months ago in the same jersey.

See how loose it was. My parents get sad when they see how small and cute I used to be.

Me and the destruction I cause to my parents' room.

Me getting ready to go to sleep. The requisite cute picture.

My new favorites spot on the couch.

Me spooning (distantly) from my "I spoon with my pug dog" pillow.

I've been Christmas tagged, repeatidly!!!
Well, I got tagged by Django but before I could talk to to Mommy and Daddy about who to tag, Duke and Gidget tagged everyone I intended to. The the Pug Farm (who I'd been intending to tag) tagged me in response a tag from Duke and Gidget. Needless to say, I'm a bit overwhelmed right now. My reaction is to go ahead and start my tagging, as well as to distract people from my procastination by posting some cute pictures from when I was a puppy a few months ago.

Me in that cross dressing phase that every pug goes through.

Me in that sleepy phase (I'm still in this phase). I don't know if people appreciate how small I was here.

I now take up the entire snugglenest. Unfortunately, my stuffed football weinerdog is no longer with us (R.I.P.).

I was insecure at first and never wanted to be more than a step away from one of my humans.
OK, here we go...
Three things I want
1) Not to get neutered
2) If I do get neutered, for my second ball to drop
3) To get to play with Aunt Lynn and Uncle Ray, as well as their dogs Rollo the Pug, Parker the Bug, and Scooter the pissy old guy. (Parent's note: We are nervous about Winston ever meeting Rollo to say this...oh, were he a person he would have hit the pipe a few too may times back in the 60s. That and he eats poop.)
Three things I do not want for Christmas
1) to get neutered
2) for my parents to cut back on my treats because I'm getting tubby
3) to get dressed up in additional stupid costumes in a fruitless attempt to make a Christmas card.
I choose to tag: Meimei and Miko, Bismark the Boston Terrier, Muppy and Gertrude, Sheba the Hug Pug and her awesome little brother Rio Bravo, and Porkie and Brownie from Adore Le Pug.
You must each give three things you want for Christmas, three things you don't and tag five friends.

My most sincere apologies
I am sorry that I have not been meeting my self-imposed goal of 3 full posts a week, but my parents have been busy and unable to supervise my posts (which means I can't post). Daddy has been working on "finals" the past few weeks. I'm confused by this concept, all he does is sit on the computer typing and saying bad words. Mommy has something called civil motion docket, but I don't know what that is. And Daddy thinks that he may want a Boston Terrier instead of another pug, even though he hates Boston because he says their sports fans are, on average, the most obnoxious in the world. Any thoughts?? Should it be a boston terrier or a pug. Honestly, the last thing I want is some Massachusetts liberal stealing my toys!

This is what a neglected pug looks like. Mommy hasn't even tried to kiss me for several minutes here.

My ears were uneven in size for quite a while, but it looks like they're finally starting to even out.

It's hard and tiring being a neglected pug. I only went to the dog park three times, and daycare twice, last week. If this keeps up I'm making a call to the SPCA, pug division, next week.

I don't get how anyone can resist this face. Although, you'd understand better if this picture was a scratch and sniff. A certain puppy is known for bad doggy morning breath.

I try not to dwell on my beauty, but it's hard to find the time for the requisite 22 hours of beauty sleep a day.

One is NEVER enough!!! Pug Punch Anyone?
I'm not in this pictures but these dogs appear to be on the kitchen table or, as it is known in the pug world, that heavenly place that leads to a state of nirvana. See how cute and happy these guys are? The pug cuteness formula is- all cuteness points added and raised to the power of pugs present. Imagine the joy a pug with a cuteness factor of 1000 could bring. Add that to my cuteness factor of 5000 and you have a cuteness factor of 6000 which must be squared (that's 6000^2 (two pugs) not 6000 x 2(two pugs)) and you have more cuteness than my parents can handle and pure joy. Now all we have to do is convince Mommy.

I want a SISTER!!! If Mommy is unable to listen to reason then very soon I will resort to pouting and, if that does not work, I will start pooping in Mommy's shoes (thanks for the suggestion Duke).

Mommy is finally gone, so me and Daddy can make this entry. We both want a black pug puppette! Mommy doesn't want another dog because she says that she will have to take care of her and feed her and play with her, blah blah blah. Me and Daddy have promised to do our part but she doesn't believe us. See how sad I look? I have recently started going to Doggy daycare and I can no longer stand the thought of spending entire days alone. Please comment and tell Mommy that it's high time for another member of pug nobility to join the household!

I'm so sad being all alone =(

Who could ever deny any request from a face like this, or not want another puggy???

Pug Meetup!!
I went to another pug meetup this weekend, and had lots of fun with my pugs friends.

This is my friend Buddy. He's the same age as me, even though he's a lot smaller. He loves wearing camouflage and loves playing with me. We played and played under these chairs. My Daddy likes it when I play with him because he's not a sissy and apparently he hopes that his courage will rub off on me; but I'm not a coward, I'm merely extremely selective as to when to engage another dog and, based on this caution, I prefer to hide under chairs or between my parents' feet.

This is Buddy posing. If you ask me there is something not quite right in his eyes that warrants a cautious approach.

I also played with some other pugs under the chairs. I liked playing under the chairs, and cowering under them if necessary.

Here I am about to come out from under the chairs... that's me in the harness, obviously.

I like running and when I'm going really fast I use my tail as an air rudder to help me change direction. That's why it's straight up in the air here.

That's me. I'm brave, see?

This is my friend Gidget. She always looks sad, at least around me. A long time ago I may have insinuated that she was fat and ever since then she cannot look at me without appearing devastated. If I may say, she looks quite fit and trim nowadays. If she weren't so old I would probably consider giving her a pity date.

This is Gidget's brother, and my hero, Duke...along with his famous tongue.

I was able to use my cunning and sneak this toy away from some people who were distracted by my cuteness.

The people apparently STILL thought I was cute, even after I "borrowed" their toy, so they played fetch with me.

Then this other pug, close on my tail in this picture, took the toy away from me!

But I didn't even have to stand up for myself and get the toy back, because, due to my aforementioned cuteness, it was the people who got it back for me. Then the people told me I could take the toy home! See, I wasn't stealing it, I knew it was mine all along. That's what being so cute has taught me - all toys are my toys, provided I give the "look." We had to leave the pug meetup when, new toy in mouth, I looked around and saw almost all the other pugs had given up and gone home.

I was pretty tired after the pug meetup, I didn't even notice when my parents put a shirt on me. I later found out that the shirt said "Mama's boy." I'm ok with that.

I am nothing if not industrious when it comes to finding a place to sleep.
