My New Healthy Diet
I have never been what I consider a "health fanatic." I tend to prefer bits of meat and eggs that have fallen on the ground and accumulated a tasty cacoon of hair and carpet fibers, but recently my parents have started eating, or trying at least, to eat healthier. I have discovered that some green things taste good. Daddy vehemently disagrees.

This is me and Mommy sharing her yummy salad. I eat lots of carrots in an attempt to preserve what remains of my eye-sight.

YUMMMY. Gimme some more.

Chomp chomp chomp. This sound should be as familiar to pug families as a snoring wheeze, since we primarily eat and sleep all day.

My parents think I look funny when I eat for some reason. Except for earlier today when I mistook Daddy's thumb for a snack. He did not think that was funny.

A Fine. No surprises here, it is nap-time once again.

Why I hate the dog park.
But first, this day in pug history:

January 27, 2007 I was recovering from my Parents' greatest betrayal [Parents' note: he's talking about being neutered]. This is one of my most pitiful feel sorry for me looks.

Now, here is one reason I hate the dog park: other dogs, female and male, just can't get enough of smelling my boy parts. This is a cute and well-dressed little girl puppy, but still, we haven't even gone out to dinner yet! I am a dignified pug and I despise the antics of the less sophisticated breeds.

I also hate the dog park because the big dogs always get the ball before me. Especially in the water, since I am too much of a sissy to go all the way into the water myself.

Sometimes they corner me in impossible positions and my only recourse is to run. This is especially distressing since I really hate physical exertion.

Other dogs also try to take over my rightful place at the summit of Pug Hill, the highly coveted high ground at the dog park.

And of course because my Parents try to make me swim there.

Finally, as you all know, I really prefer the couch over any other place.

A return to the dogpark and the misery that follows
It finally stopped raining/snowing enough for my parents to take me to the dog park. I forgot how much I truly hate that place.

I know when my Mommy is about to try and take me to the dog park, because she wears the same pants every time we go, and they smell like the dog park. Plus, she says "you wanna go to the dog park? Wanna go to the dog park?" in a really high, annoying voice about a million times. This is me begging her to let me stay home on the couch.

This is my plan not working. This is me begging to go home from the dog park.

Doing nothing at the dogpark is quite exhausting. This is me relaxing after a long afternoon of play-evasion.

Me and Daddy like snuggling together.

HUH??? What is that flash?

This is my favorite new game- it is called drop my egg intentionally into my food bowl and then scratch and dig and cry until my parents get so fed up with me that they come over and get it out for me. I then promptly drop it back in. If my parents ignore me I will just take it out very easily on my own accord.

All these games make me...you guessed it- Sleepy. Such is the life of a pug.

Memories
I feel like I am entering middle age. As I do so I often find myself reflecting back upon the past, and memories of long ago.

This Day in Pug History, January 21, 2007, I was at a pug meetup. Here, me and my buddy Oliver sit for a treat. I am the one with the bigger fat roles. When looking through my old pictures to find one for my 'this day in history' segment, I started reminiscing on some other cool places I have gone in the past.

Here I am at the Doggie Diner. That was my one and only trip there, although I do not know why, I mean look at how good I am being!

Yummy dogbiscuits covered in gravy!!!

Here I am at the Animal Planet Expo. I did not like this part very much... My parents said that I made an adorable alien.

But I ABSOLUTELY LOVED the ice cream cone!!
Here I am in a big field about an hour outside of Seattle, at an Easter egg hunt. I especially loved jumping through the long grass. It would have been nice if they had served ice cream, but it was still fun. Hopefully I will go to another one of these in a couple of months.

One problem with going places is that I have to leave the couch. Here I am hiding from my Daddy who was trying to take me outside. This picture is NOT old, it was taken a few days ago. I do love loungin in my soft toy box.

I do love sleeping. If only I could eat ice cream in my sleep I would never have to wake up!

Hey Everyone
Things have been really slow in the Pugsworth realm recently, so I have decided to share with you one of my favorite past-times...attacking Mommy's hoody string.

This is Mommy taking a picture of me pulling the string as tight as my little puggy teeth will allow.

This is a better view of the game. I have not yet made up rules or determined how I win, but it is still loads of fun.

You can see here that I am starting to slow down. In my defense, I had been pulling at the string for about 2 hours.

My energy is about done here.

This is me reverting to my other favorite hobby.

This Day in History and Pug Naps
So I have been having a lot of uneventful weekends lately and I decided to start posting a "this day in history" picture each week to show what I was doing on this day last year. I found shocking similarities when I looked up my post and pictures from January 13 last year. The pictures depicted my dismay over the Seahawks' loss to the Bears in the Playoffs. Not much has changed in a year.
Here (above), I hid my face when the Bears lined up to kick the game winning field goal. I knew nothing good was coming. This weekend I had to stop watching the game much earlier, about 1/2 way through the second quarter. Nothing good was coming after that either (the Seahawks had their hinnies handed to them by the Packers). I also look dejected because my parents had just conspired to have my little guys untimely ripped from my scrotum.
The rest of this weekend I got in some much needed beauty sleep. You don't just wake up looking this cute.

This is my couch. Occaisonally Daddy takes issue with that, but a few harsh words from Mommy and he is back to laying on the ground with his blankey.

I don't think people fully appreciate the pressures a pug must endure.

Whenever Mommy is home I will normally try to sleep on her. Those are her legs that I am resting my head on.

Father Returned!
My Daddy has come back to Seattle safe and sound. He claims to have going to a place called Deecee of his own volition; but PIA has reliable information that he was actually kidnapped by Jack Russell Terriers and subjected to extreme interrogation techniques, which consisted of being forced to watch "America's Next Top Model." This is a gross violation of the basic laws of human decency and PIA has filed a grievance. I am somewhat concerned that he may have been brainwashed and that there is now a spy within the PIA inner-sactum.

This is an old picture of me, but it shows me happily welcoming Daddy home.

Ooooh, this is a picture of my first Brewski (Bud light in no way endorses this blog, but I am open to considering allowing them to do so, provided they provide a large initial cash payment).

This is us resting comfortably together on the couch. He allowed me to steal one of his socks a bit too easy and I am concerned that he is lulling me into a false sense of security for some nafarious Jack Russell plot, but maybe I am just paranoid.

My Daddy Abandoned Me!
So I know my loyal reader is used to waking up Monday mornings to a fabulous new post by yours truly. Unfortunately, my Daddy is the one who helps me use the computer to make my posts, and he has disappeared. Finally, I was able to sneak on to the computer today and I would like to dedicate this post to my Daddy, without whom this blog would not exist.

Here I am working on the computer. You might notice this is an old picture, see a very clean looking Alberto Gonzalez Ducky, and sunshine outside, neither of which we have seen around here in a very long time. But you get the idea.

Here I am at four weeks old, this is me and my Daddy's first kiss (you can see my tiny tongue if you look close).

Here we are kissing some more. Daddy and I really enjoy our make-out sessions.

Here Daddy and I do our second favorite thing, nap together. We especially enjoy sharing a pillow.

Here we are doing our third favorite activity, eating ice cream together.

And here we are rooting for our favorite team. Go Horns!

Well kids, all that blogging makes me sleepy! Time for another pug nap.

Fun with my toys!

My parents think that it is hilarious that I can entertain myself sometimes, but, truth be told, it is actually quite frustrating.

Happy New Year!!!
I had a good time this new year and I hope that every other dog did too!!

This was Daddy teasing me with a dangling cookie. I managed to steal a bite a bit later!

You can totally see that I deserved that cookie after all the torture I went through. After I stole a piece my parents yelled at me ... can you believe it?

This is the aftermath of the the stolen cookie incident. That is frosting on my lips.

So full!!

Wait, are there crumbs down there? I'm never too full for crumbs!

After my scavenging I did some fetch to work off those extra calories and maintain my sleek pug figure.

I just love playing fetch with my Parents!!!
