The Night Before A Puggy Christmas
Twas the night before Christmas
and snuggled in bed,
a cute little mongrel
rested his head

His smooth coat was fawn,
his wrinkled face was flat,
he snorted and wheezed,
the pug was so fat

Lost in his dreams
he turned on his pillow,
stretched out his paws
and kicked the big fellow

The daddy beside him
had promised him that,
presents were coming
from a man in a hat

This fat Santa man was
completely beloved,
but his milk and cookies
were eaten by a pug

Was this a big deal?
Would Santa be mad?
If he didn't get toys
the pug would be sad

Reflecting back
on two thousand seven,
he'd been a good dog,
like an angel from heaven

When all of a sudden there arose such a noise
he was quite hopeful it was Santa with toys
Then what to his big bulging eyes should appear
but a bearded fat man and eight dogs that looked weird

Santa dropped off the presents
and gave him a pat,
then looked to his dogs
and straightened his hat

"When it comes to being cute
you're a hard pug to beat,
but next year please
stay away from MY treats"

Then he yelled to the pug
as he flew out of sight
"Merry Christmas to pugs
and to all pugs a good night!"

My New Jacket
Me, Mommy, and Daddy got new matching jackets for Christmas. My parents thought that mine was so cute that they had to try it on me a bit early. As always, I was miserable in clothing.

The reflective tape gives off a really creepy glow.

This is my YUCK face, as I try to show my parents the utter disgust that I feel at ever being dressed up.

This is what I call "post daycare." I just sleep for entire next day after daycare because I get so exhausted running away from other dogs for about 12 hours straight. Mommy and Daddy say that they just want to play with me, but they have never seen the maniacal look in these yorkies eyes. Those dogs have a few screws loose if you ask me.

This is sleeping on top of Mommy. Mommy is good snuggler when she is not trying to kill me.

When I am scared my tail unravels. This also happens when I am completely at ease. Guess which I am feeling in the picture above.

I WISH Daddy would just let me sleep.

Oh well, I can rest with my eyes open if need be.

Pug Meetup
I want to note that I recently posted my 200th post a few weeks ago, and I wish to thank all my loyal fans. Without your views and wonderful comments I would have quit long ago. Now that I am fully recovered from kennel cough (it took a week and a half of hacking to get over it) my Parents are requiring me to go play again; therefore I was forced to make an appearance at the pug meetup. I met Santie Claus but Mommy thinks that I am contractually forbidden from posting the picture due to some pesky licensing agreement.

This is me in my Puppia and festive Christmas collar.

This is a little energetic pug named Peanut that I played tug-o-war with for a while. Despite being half my size she whooped me.

This is my old friend buddy. When I first met him he was a little four pound pup. He is now a 29 pound monster. His parents still love him.

This is a Shar-Pug (Sharpei/pug mix). I forget what her name was.

This is the undisputed stud of the hour...Winston the One-eyed Pug. I honestly believe that my different colored eyes make me look dignified.

This is me tired and sleeping on Mommy's lap (my standard position from Friday to Sunday night).

Falling asleep.....................

And finally out cold for a mid-morning nap.

Cute Pictures of Me and Christmas Photo Out-takes
Hey everydog!! I had my Christmas card photo shoot and like always, I was a bad pug. Here are a few cute pictures of me and then non-selected Christmas card pictures.

This is me begging Daddy for food by showing him how emaciated I am, and how I can sit beside the table while he is eating without bothering him. Mean old Daddy still ignored me.

This is the pug using several thousand years worth of evolution to blend into its natural environment.

This is Daddy trying to get me to sit while wearing a white thingy and halo during my Christmas photo-shoot.

I see that treat Mommy...now give it over!!

She would not give over the treat, something about not facing the right direction, so I gave the sad eyes. I don't remember whether it worked but it probably did because no one wants to ever see a sad pug.

This is me being a total ham and refusing to even sit in front of the backdrop.

This is a somewhat good picture of me and the halo.

And this is me finally telling my parents "ENOUGH" and demanding an end to the abuse, as well as all the treats they currently had. I will post the Christmas card picture after my extended family has received them.

I Am Feeling Much Better (knock on wood)
Thank you everyone for your well wishes. I seem to be getting better and I have not sounded like a twenty year smoker for several days now. My energy is also coming back nicely. I was somewhat bummed to learn that some December holiday may result in more of me dressing up.

This is what I did for most of the weekend, when I wasn't sleeping.

The tug-of-war weekend came to an abrupt end when my parents came home with some shopping bags Sunday night. To prepare my loyal reader for what is about to come, here is a picture (above) from last Christmas, when I was cute (and had two functioning eyes).

This is my parents preparing me for another photo shoot this year. For soem reason they put me on the table next to this weird tree. Note that there is a ceramic pug below the tree.

This is me doing the standard "It is edible?" pug sniff-test.

This is me posing with a stoopid hat on.

MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!!!! Okay...I said it, now where is my treat?

C'mon, gimme the stoopid treat or I am goint to jump off the table and take it from you!!!

I did finally get the treat, and afterwards it was time to go nappies again.

Of course, is there ever really a bad time to go nappies??

Still Recovering From Kennel Cough
I had a bit of a relapse the past few days and my parents took me back to the vet to insure that I did not have anything more serious. The vet said that I was fine and my parents have become suspicious that I always have relapses whenever they begin showing me less attention; I do not like what they are insinuating. Also, it has been requested that I mention that the dog bed so prominently featured in the previous post was purchased by my Texas Grandparents from a place called "Buster's and Sullivan's." I hope this satisfies my Grandparents and that more presents follow.

This is me during one of my recovery periods. For those who do not speak pug, I am saying "play with me, play with me, or share that food with me!!!" I do not remember which I was saying.

This was me during one of my down periods.

This was another down period. Notice the strategic use of the pillow and the flopping of the doggie cheek, which mothers in particular find adorable.

This is a zoom in so that the full cuteness of the pug cheek can be recognized.

This is just legitimate night-time drowsiness, I think it is time to go to sleep.

But I normally get distracted easily. Here, I am stalking a snow boot that looks really tasty.

This is me in my post-bath nekkedness. Hi Daddy, I'm clean. How's about a treat to celebrate. My parents think I look adorable without my collar but always make me wear it anyways.

Now I am really sleepy. The strawberry is my sleep toy, and when I get it my parents know that I am serious about going nappies.

If they still do not get the drift, I give another subtle hint and actually take myself and the strawberry onto the bed. Another good thing about bath night is that I get to sleep without my collar!!!

My Nemesis Returns
Bad News, this snow stuff is back. It is cold and wet and I really do not like it. It also allows my parents to easily verify whether or not I have peed (sometimes I pretend to pee so that I can get a "goodboy bone" upon going back inside).

There it is...SNOW!!!

This is me resting comfortably in my new snuggle-nest. My kennel cough meant that my parents would get me whatever I wanted this weekend.

These are the eggs from Alberto the Ducky 2.0. I have already destroyed 4 out of 5.

This is me sleeping on Friday when I actually may have still felt sick. My parents suspect that I was just milking things on Saturday and Sunday.

By Sunday I was pretty much back to normal destroying the couches and playing fetch. The only time I started feeling bad was when I was supposed to go outside in the snow/rain. At those points my cough came back full force. [Parents' Note: We really suspect that he is a con-artist.]
